The next installment in the Michigan-Michigan State rivalry will take place under the lights.

The Oct. 7 football game at Michigan Stadium will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and air nationally on ABC, it was announced Monday morning.

It will mark the first time the in-state rivalry will be played at night, a determination now made by the Big Ten's TV partners as opposed to the schools involved. The game was previously considered off limits when it came to moving from its customary afternoon start time.

The Big Ten's $2.64 billion TV agreement with ESPN and FOX now gives full control to the networks with regard to start times and channel assignments.
