Gabe Brown sat in Tom Izzo's office on Saturday and received a scholarship offer.
It was a transcendent moment. Brown, a 6-foot-8 forward from Belleville High School, is a Michigan kid. He's coveted a scholarship offer from MSU or Michigan throughout his high school career. This was a big deal.
On Sunday, MLive asked Brown if he considered committing to Michigan State on the spot.
"No," Brown said. "I needed to think about it."
Well, it didn't take long.
Brown committed to Michigan State on Tuesday, announcing his decision on Twitter.
Brown dedicated the commitment to his father, who died of a stroke last year.
