The week before Michigan’s spring game, Jake Butt, twice named the Big Ten’s Tight End of the Year and winner of the Mackey Award as a senior, was experiencing butterflies.
He knew this feeling well. Before games at Michigan during his career, they were always there.
“That’s what was always the attraction to the game of football,” Butt said. “Third-and-six with the game on the line, I wanted them to call a play that was gonna go to me so I can make a play in a high-pressure situation.”
