GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Less than a year ago, Seth Millner's understanding of football strategy came entirely from playing with his friends - not on the field, but on his TV screen.
The Grand Rapids Christian senior had only played anything resembling organized football through the Madden NFL videogame franchise, so when he stepped onto the field Thursday for his first game in the Eagles' season opener against DeWitt, he wasn't sure what to expect.
"I saw myself probably getting one catch and then just blocking a lot," the 6-foot-6 receiver said.
Millner made that first catch in the form of a 59-yard jump ball that he carried down to the 1-yard line, but his night was far from done.
