EAST LANSING, Mich. – Former Michigan State All-American tackle Larry Fowler, who helped lead the Spartans to the 1953 Big Ten Championship and a victory in the 1954 Rose Bowl, died Friday, May 20. He was 83.
A three-year letterman (1951-53), Fowler was a first-team All-America selection at offensive tackle his senior year in 1953 by NBC-TV. He also played tackle on defense.
