EAST LANSING - Michigan State signed a pair of running backs to its 2014 class.
One was Madre London, who has made six starts in 21 career games.
The other was Gerald Owens, who has yet to touch the ball for the Spartans. Now standing 6-foot-2 and 312 pounds, the redshirt junior is tasked with plugging holes, not running through them.
Owens made the switch to the defensive line in 2015 but is still relying on his previous running back experience, even if he's about 60 pounds heavier than when he signed with Michigan State.
"It helps a lot, having quicker feet and everything, compared to O-linemen," he said.
