Former Michigan State University doctor Larry Nassar will stand trial in Ingham County on 12 first degree criminal sexual conduct charges, 55th District Court Judge Donald Allen determined Friday.
Over a series of preliminary examination hearings, Assistant Attorney General Angela Povilaitis brought forward several witnesses who alleged Nassar -- who was considered the gold standard among sports doctors for gymnasts -- would inappropriately touch and penetrate them vaginally and anally during treatments.
Povilaitis asked the court to drop some of the charges against Nassar involving one specific victim, "Victim F," dropping the number of alleged victims in Ingham County from seven to six.
