I had met Ryan Brehm before he played in the 2010 Michigan Open, but it wasn’t until that year’s tournament, the premier golf event in the state, that I took a liking to him.
Brehm was a mini-tour player back then, just a couple years removed from graduating in 2008 as one of the best golfers in Michigan State history. After tough and windy conditions in the third round at Orchard Lake Country Club that year, Brehm came into the clubhouse and spoke with reporters. He was young, strong as bull, hit the ball a mile and was plenty cocky.
