Former Michigan State University women's gymnastics coach Kathie Klages has been charged with two counts of lying to a peace officer, investigator Bill Forsyth announced Thursday.
Forsyth, who is heading the investigation into Michigan State University's handling of the Larry Nassar case for the Attorney General's office, said Klages denied being told about Nassar's conduct prior to 2016 even as multiple victims said they'd reported his abuse to Klages.
The charges include a felony and a misdemeanor - the felony charge is punishable by up to four years in prison and up to $5,000 in fines, and the misdemeanor charge is punishable by up to two years in prison and up to $5,000 in fines.
