Deyonta Davis appeared to be getting a fresh start to his NBA career this summer when he was traded from the Memphis Grizzlies to the Sacramento Kings
Instead, his career with the Kings is over before it started.
The Kings announced on Saturday that they have waived Davis, the Muskegon native and former Michigan State big man.
The move comes less than a week before NBA teams open training camps ahead of the Oct. 16 start to the regular season. Davis will now look for a new team on waivers or as a free agent in his third professional season.
