Former AD and Michigan State Hockey Legend Ron Mason Passes Away at 76

Ron Mason passed away last night, June 13th, at the age of 76.

Coach Mason was the head coach of the MSU Hockey for 23 years (1979-2002) posting a record of 635-270-69. He had an overall record of 924-380-83 which puts him second on the college hockey coaching wins list.

After a career behind the bench which included 17 CCHA regular-season and playoff titles, coaching 23 teams to the NCAA Tournament and a national title in 1986, Mason served as the Athletic Director for Michigan State from 2002-07.
