It was very interesting to see Nick Saban's quote from the Cotton Bowl teleconference on Sunday concerning Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio:
"Mark has exceeded expectations of all of us in terms of what he's done in terms of Michigan State and certainly done a better job than I ever did there."
The Alabama coach is right, of course.
During his five seasons in East Lansing, Saban went 6-5-1, 6-6, 7-5, 6-6 and 9-2. The Spartans went to the Citrus Bowl that final year but Saban didn't, having left Michigan State for LSU. Saban was 0-4 in bowls.
