PHILADELPHIA -- Michigan State could've been in State College, Pennsylvania, this weekend, a place known for college basketball the same way East Lansing is known for its French cuisine.
Instead, the Spartans are in Philadelphia. They're facing Penn State (9-7, 1-2 Big Ten) at the historic Palestra, thanks to a scheduling agreement between coaches Patrick Chambers and Tom Izzo. Now a game that would've been played at Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center, a 15,261-seat arena that has ranked last in Big Ten attendance in four of the last five years, will be played in a jam-packed 8,722-seat living rooEm.
