East Lansing — Michigan State players reported for camp on Wednesday with the first practice for the 2022 season set for Thursday morning.
After an offseason of roster juggling with aid from a new crop of recruits and the transfer portal, expectations are high for the Spartans after they finished 11-2 in coach Mel Tucker’s second season, capping things off with a victory over Pittsburgh in the Peach Bowl.
But playing in the Big Ten East, one of the toughest divisions in college football, means every year is a challenging and there are no guarantees based on last year’s success.
