EAST LANSING – Their first date took place at a fair in Hudsonville, but Matt Costello found a way to extend it.
“Wanna hoop?” he asked Anna Buffum on that night of Aug. 23, 2013.
So off they went at 10 p.m. to the gym at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, where she played soccer at the time. Some P-I-G and one-on-one turned to hours of talking.
