It was a play that delighted/devastated half of this state. And now the nation as further cemented its legacy in the history of our great rivarly.
The final play of the Michigan State-Michigan game was named the play of the year via a fan vote during tonight's College Football Awards show on ESPN.
As you may (fondly/begrudingly) remember, Michigan had a 23-21 lead with just seconds remaining and possessed the ball on fourth down. They decided to punt, but Blake O'Neill fumbled, the snap, tried to pick the ball up and kick it away, but he was enveloped by an MSU rush, the ball popped free, and Jalen Watts-Jackson carried it 38 yards for the game-winning touchdown before suffering a season-ending hip injury while being tackled at the goal line.
