Donnie Trosper didn't get on the course at the Detroit Golf Club until 2:10 p.m.
Making his PGA Tour debut, the former Michigan State golfer was the last person in the 157-man field to tee off Thursday at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, meaning he had to wait a significant amount of time before each shot.
The slow pace of play, combined with afternoon temperatures in the high 80s, caused the 23-year-old to struggle with a 6-over-par 78 after the first round. The three leaders — Doc Redman, Scott Stallings and Kevin Kisner — shot 7-under 65.
