Darien Harris combined for one of the biggest plays in Michigan State football history, the often-forgotten helper on Kyler Elsworth’s fourth-down stop to beat Stanford in the 2014 Rose Bowl.
The former linebacker and captain has returned to his alma mater to give Mel Tucker a similar assist, any way he could. And the new head coach fittingly hired Harris and appointed him as the Spartans’ director of player engagement in late February.
