While Michigan State was preparing last week to face Purdue, its opponent this week was taking time to regroup and get a head start on the Spartans.
Rutgers had the week off following a victory over Kansas that ended a two-game losing streak, and now it gets set to host No. 4 Michigan State on Saturday night.
“We did something every day (last week),” said Norries Wilson, Rutgers interim coach. “We had a good three periods of good team work against the things they do on defense.”
Wilson, the running backs coach, is filling in for Kyle Flood, who is serving a three-game suspension for contacting a faculty member to discuss the academic standing of one of his players.
