Al Demps’ greatest coaching move occurred well before his first game leading Eastpointe football last year.
“The main thing is they’ve got to buy into what you’re selling,” he said. “It’s hard where you come into a program that’s had a culture of losing, but I’ve done that before, so I knew we could get it done.”
Demps really had to strong-sell one student in particular — Tay’Shawn Trent, an athletic sophomore who was not a member of the team in 2018.
