EAST LANSING — Mel Tucker watched another thorough beatdown, the third in Michigan State football’s last four games.
His Spartans got thumped, 52-12, Saturday by fourth-ranked Ohio State, a team missing 23 players, its head coach and three assistants. Despite missing three starting offensive linemen, the Buckeyes pushed MSU around like rag dolls all day.
It wasn’t even varsity vs. JV — this was men vs. boys.
Cold and frustrated yet again with a process in its nascent stages, Tucker measured his words to carefully give his entire program a tongue-lashing. His vision when he took over for Mark Dantonio in February didn't include getting outscored 125-19 by Iowa, Indiana and OSU.
