COVID-19 has ravaged this country and indeed many parts of the world in ways almost too numerous to mention. Here in Michigan, we are certainly not immune.
One of the more profound tragedies of this silent assassin, right behind the biggest tragedy of all (the unfortunate loss of so many lives) is the devastating impact it has had on our economy.
Even as the state starts to slowly reopen, economic devastation is real and will remain. It will be years before we crawl out of this hole none of us created and some, sadly, will never recover.
