Taro Hirose has some familiarity with playing at Madison Square Garden. He's just hoping this time he can finish the game.

Hirose, a former Michigan State hockey star forward, will make his NHL debut with the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday when they face the Rangers (7 p.m., Fox Sports Detroit). He signed a two-year, entry-level contract last week.

Hirose skated on MSG's ice last season with the Spartans against Minnesota but suffered a shoulder injury in the first period and was forced to leave the game.
