EAST LANSING -- There aren't a lot of unknowns for a Michigan State team that returns 19 total starters, tied for the most in FBS football going into the season.
But listed in the third-string linebacker spot on Michigan State's first depth chart is a huge question mark: Jon Reschke.
Reschke is a returning senior who has 16 starts under his belt and was a starter on Michigan State's 2015 Big Ten title team as a sophomore.
He's also a player who hasn't played a football game in nearly two years, is coming off a significant knee injury and has been the subject of controversy this offseason after he returned to the team following his departure a year ago due to an 'insensitive' remark about a former teammate.
