Dolphins cornerback Tony Lippett out for season

MIAMI - Former Michigan State standout Tony Lippett will miss the entire 2017 season.

The Detroit native tore his Achilles tendon during Monday's practice, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Lippett, who was drafted in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, started 13 games at cornerback in 2016.

It's a tough blow for Lippett, who had emerged as one of the more reliable players on the Dolphins defense last season.
