Michigan State‘s backcourt could end up benefitting somewhat from Eron Harris’ indefinite suspension, because while his July 1 drunk driving arrest disappointed Spartan coaches and teammates, his absence could end up expediting the development of shooting guard Bryn Forbes by placing him in a more prominent role in practices and possibly in games.

Head coach Tom Izzo said in June that Forbes is one of the team’s most improved players this offseason. Travis Trice was forced to assume a larger court-facilitating role during the latter part of the 2013-2014 season when Keith Appling played fewer minutes due to an injured wrist.
