EAST LANSING -- Michigan State's wait for its first member of the 2019 recruiting class is over.
Mark "Rocket" Watts, a four-star guard from Detroit, announced his commitment to Michigan State on Saturday night on his Instagram page.
"The next step is all about development- as a player as student as a teammate and as a person," Watts wrote. "That's why I've decided to play college basketball For coach Tom Izzo at Michigan State University."
In Watts, Michigan State has a high-scoring wing who the coaching staff has long coveted.
Watts (6-foot-1, 174 pounds) developed into one of the top players in the state at Old Redford High School, where he averaged 26.
