A former Michigan State star has been bitten by the injury bug.

The Chicago Bulls announced that forward Denzel Valentine has been diagnosed with ongoing ankle instability. The Lansing native will undergo a surgical reconstruction the week of Nov. 26 and will be out four-to-six months.

Dr. Bob Anderson, a foot and ankle specialist in Green Bay, examined Valentine and will perform the surgery.

It's a tough blow for the Bulls and Valentine, whose season is over before it even starts. Valentine was diagnosed with a moderate left ankle sprain that occurred during practice on Sept.
