Michigan State guard Denzel Valentine's multifaceted game is reminiscent of Spartan greats such as Magic Johnson and Draymond Green. And just like them, the do-it-all Valentine wants to take his team deep into March Madness.
EAST LANSING -- Denzel Valentine got his awards season started with a big one this evening.
The Michigan State senior guard was named Big Ten player of the year, in voting by both league media and coaches. Valentine is the eighth MSU player to win the award and the fifth under coach Tom Izzo.
