EAST LANSING - Davion Williams took the floor inside a Breslin Center auxiliary gym on Saturday and spotted familiar faces in the crowd.
One was Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo. Seeing him was hardly a surprise, since Williams and his Belleville High School teammates were, after all, playing in the Tom Izzo Shootout camp.
Watching alongside Izzo was Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio, who was joined by defensive backs coach Harlon Barnett and wide receivers coach Terrence Samuel. This wasn't a scenario that Williams would have envisioned a year go.
"I was like, man, this is real, this is really happening," Williams recalled.
