EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio started spring practice for his Spartans by saying he hopes to be a positive part of a "new beginning" for how claims of sexual assault are handled on campus.
"A lot of times spring is the time for new beginnings, so I'll use that in this case too," Dantonio said Tuesday when asked about the culture of sexual assault around Michigan State's athletic department and campus.
"It's an opportunity to grow and to get better at everything that we're doing and looking at," he said while meeting with reporters for a few minutes at the start of his team's first practice of 2018.
