EAST LANSING – All of the memories flooded back to Danton Cole as he stood high above the Munn Arena ice he once patrolled.
The long walks down the tunnel to the locker room after practice, seeing Ron Mason sitting quietly behind his desk. The “snake pit” sellout crowds that filled the stands and made Michigan State hockey THE ticket in the 1980s. The championship banners above his head in the rafters.
“It starts with maintaining and building on the culture and the type of program that we want to have here, about excellence. … That’s what MSU hockey should be,” Cole said today.
