East Lansing – Michigan State has former Spartan and coaching veteran Danton Cole as its hockey coach, replacing Tom Anastos, who stepped down after six seasons.
Cole, who was a key member 1986 national championship team at Michigan State, returns to the Spartans from USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program where he has mentored some of the nation’s top young players on the U-17 and U-18 teams for the past seven seasons.
“We’re looking forward to having Danton Cole back with us at Michigan State,” MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon said. “He brings a championship pedigree and a heart for working with student athletes.
