Could MSU basketball's offense be the best in Tom Izzo's 24 seasons?

EAST LANSING — Tom Izzo’s central mission will always be to keep Michigan State among the elite defensive teams in the nation.

But a curious thing is happening. Even without Miles Bridges and Jaren Jackson Jr., who departed for the NBA after last season, the Spartans have one of the nation's best offenses this season.

Maybe the best in program history, too.

It’s too early to make that big a declaration, of course.
