Couch: The top Michigan State NBA draft picks, busts and bargains of all-time

Graham Couch/Lansing State Journal

There won’t be a Michigan State player selected in tonight’s NBA draft, provided Alvin Ellis doesn’t sweet-talk his way into the second round.

Next year, though, the Spartans could have several players chosen — certainly Miles Bridges, possibly Jaren Jackson Jr., perhaps Nick Ward — with a couple of them projected as lottery picks.

They’ll join a sizable contingent of MSU NBA draft picks, an average of about one a year over the last 30 years, half of them first-rounders.

You could put together a nice NBA team made up of all-time MSU greats.
