EAST LANSING – For a while, Michigan State’s exhibition game against Grand Valley State on Tuesday night looked like a redux of the Lakers’ victory 15 years ago at Breslin Center. That MSU team, with freshman Kalin Lucas, senior Drew Neitzel and so forth, wound up in the Sweet 16. It’s going to be at least a couple of weeks before we know whether this year’s MSU team will be just fine, too.
The Spartans woke up Tuesday, rallied from a halftime deficit and looked like the Big Ten team on the court in the second half in a 73-56 exhibition win.
