EAST LANSING - Connor Heyward could have been in a number of different places on the field at this point in his Michigan State career.
The versatile sophomore played five different positions for his high school in Georgia before coming to East Lansing last summer with no set position.
Now, nine months into his Michigan State career, he's settled into a pretty important position: No. 2 running back behind LJ Scott.
Heyward spent Michigan State's spring game on Saturday taking reps with the team's No. 2 offense. His 11 carries were the most of any Spartans running back and his 44 yards were second-most among Spartans running backs, behind only transfer Alante Thomas.
