Connor Cook's personality, like it or not, is reason for Spartans' success

No one likes you when you beat them. Michigan State is learning this year what it’s like to go from the scrappy underdog to the power team people root against. No one has felt that more than quarterback Connor Cook.

The numbers are well known by now. The Spartans have won 36 games in the past three seasons, 34 of them with Cook starting. The wins have come with a few mementos to fill up the fifth-year senior’s trophy case: a Rose Bowl MVP, a golden statue of Johnny Unitas, and a couple of Big Ten championship MVPs.
