This morning former Oakland Raiders backup quarterback Matt McGloin signed a one year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. That may not seem like it matters to anyone associated with Michigan State, but it does.
The reason? His backup, former MSU star Connor Cook, now looks to be in line for the main backup gig behind Derek Carr. Cook may only be entering his second season in the NFL, but he is not completely without experience.
The former fourth round pick played in Week 17 against the Broncos and started the Raiders’ Wild Card game against the Texans after both Carr and McGloin went down with injuries.
