EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State third-year sophomore offensive tackle Cole Chewins has been named to the Academic All-District 5 First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Chewins, who owns a 3.91 grade-point average as a finance major, is now eligible to earn Academic All-America honors.
Chewins has started all 10 games at left tackle this season for the Spartans, who are ranked No. 17 in the latest College Football Playoff Top 25 and own a 7-3 overall record (5-2 Big Ten). He earned his first letter in 2016 and has started 13 consecutive games at left tackle, tied for the third-longest starts streak on the team.
