The 2000 national champions were at Breslin Center on Saturday night, basking in the glow of a sold-out crowd that’s still on a high from its football team preparing to play in the College Football Playoffs and its basketball team being ranked No. 1 in the nation.
It was fitting, really, that it was this night the Spartans’ title team was honored. The opponent was Florida, the same team Michigan State beat more than 15 years ago in Indianapolis.
