EAST LANSING - Michigan State senior defenseman Carson Gatt has been selected as a candidate for the 2017-18 Senior CLASS Award, it was announced today by the organization. Gatt is one of 20 NCAA men’s hockey student-athletes nominated for the award.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

Gatt, one of just three seniors on this year’s Spartan roster, has appeared in 103 career games. The All-Big Ten honorable mention selection last season is off to a strong start in 2017-18 with four points through six games.
