Former Michigan State hockey star Rod Brind'Amour is now a head coach in the NHL.
Brind'Amour, who holds the MSU record for goals in a season by a freshman with 27, was named the 14th head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. The 47-year-old native of Ottawa signed his contract in a video posted by the team this morning.

Brind'Amour spent 10 seasons in Raleigh and served as captain of a Hurricanes team that won the 2006 Stanley Cup.
