EAST LANSING - Brian Lewerke will be making his 20th career start for Michigan State on Saturday.
The No. 20 Spartans (3-1, 1-0 Big Ten) host Northwestern (1-3, 1-1) for homecoming (noon, FS1) and the Wildcats are a memorable opponent for the redshirt junior quarterback.
Lewerke's first career start was in 2016 against Northwestern and he set multiple program records against the Wildcats last year. However, both games ended in a loss for the Spartans.
"They haven't gone the way I wanted in terms of winning the game," Lewerke said. "Obviously that's something we've got to work on, but I think we have the full potential to do that this year.
