EAST LANSING, Mich. – Two former Michigan State Spartans – Patriots quarterback Brian Hoyer and Vikings cornerback Trae Waynes – are preparing for NFL Conference Championships on Sunday, Jan. 21.
Hoyer, a back-up quarterback for New England, will be looking to go to the Super Bowl for the second time with the Patriots. He also was a back-up quarterback on the Super Bowl XLVI team. New England hosts Jacksonville at 3:05 p.m. on CBS in the AFC Championship Game.
A nine-year NFL veteran, Hoyer signed with New England on Nov. 1 after starting the first six games of the season for San Francisco.
