East Lansing — It’s been two days since Michigan State lost to Nebraska and the decisive play has not faded from the conversation.
Even on a day Illinois announced it was firing its athletic director, there was plenty of talk around the Big Ten about the call that allowed Nebraska to score the winning touchdown in a 39-38 victory in Lincoln, Nebraska. With 17 seconds left in the game, Cornhuskers receiver Brandon Reilly came from out of bounds to catch a pass in front of Spartans cornerback Jermaine Edmondson and fall into the end zone.
The officials noted Reilly was out of bounds before coming back into the field of play to catch the ball, but after huddling, they determined Reilly was forced out of bounds.
