EAST LANSING - The Michigan State hockey team picked up its first win of the season on Friday night, topping Princeton 6-2 at Munn Ice Arena. Six different Spartans scored and five recorded multiple points in the win, which was keyed by a four-goal second period.
Ed Minney made 21 saves in goal to earn his first-career victory.
“It was nice to see the scoring spread around,” MSU head coach Tom Anastos said. “We needed a win tonight and it’s something to build on.
“I thought (Ed) made some important saves tonight, so that’s good for him but it’s also good for the whole team to build a confidence around him.
