East Lansing — Harlon Barnett understands the frustration of many Spartans fans.
That’s because as Michigan State’s co-defensive coordinator who is in charge of the defensive backs, he understands the problems his unit has had better than anybody.
The former Spartans defensive back under George Perles has produced his share of top-notch players in the secondary, including cornerbacks that have gone in the first round of the NFL draft the past two seasons.
But injuries have been a problem this season, and at one point last week against Nebraska, three true freshmen were on the field.
