Arizona grad transfer QB picks Indiana, eager to work with Mike DeBord

Brandon Dawkins wanted a fresh start after losing the starting job at Arizona.

So Dawkins is packing his bags and heading to Big Ten country. The grad transfer told ESPN.com he's committed to Indiana.

Dawkins is a dual-threat quarterback who started all of 2016 and went in to 2017 as the Wildcats' starter before being beat out by Khalil Tate. The Hoosiers have Patrick Ramsey back -- he four games last season -- but there's certainly an opportunity for Dawkins.

And for him, it's the chance to work with offensive coordinator Mike DeBord.

"I don't think you can coach quarterback if you haven't played it at a high level," Dawkins told ESPN.
