EAST LANSING - Mason Appleton’s power-play goal 1:22 into overtime pushed the Spartan hockey team past Michigan Tech, 3-2, at Munn Ice Arena on Friday night. Appleton finished with two goals and an assist for MSU (2-4) to push his point streak to four games.
Zach Osburn had a goal and an assist and Taro Hirose added two assists for the Spartans.
“I thought it was a good defensive hockey game tonight,” MSU head coach Tom Anastos said. “I continue to be encouraged by the growth of our team.
